Abstract:
The goal of this study is to determine the relationship between time management skills and effectiveness of elementary schools’ management in Bustan and Golestan area. The population consisted of all teachers at boy’s elementary schools in Bustan and Golestan who were working there in the school year 1389-90 (640 teachers). The sample was formed by 128 teachers who were chosen with multi-stage cluster sampling method. A time management questionnaire with 30 items and also a 35-item questionnaire for effectiveness were administered. To analyze data, descriptive statistics and coefficient of regression were calculated. Results showed that there is a positive meaningful relationship between time management skills and their efficiency. Following results were concluded: there is positive and meaningful relationship between time management and manager’s effectiveness (α=0.01); There is positive and meaningful relationship between time management and technical skills in manager’s effectiveness with α=0.01 level; In other words, we are able to estimate manager’s effectiveness and their technical skills by time management; There is a meaningful and positive relationship between time management and manager’s effectiveness with human skills at α=0.01; in other words, we are able to estimate human skills in manager’s effectiveness by time management variable; There is meaningful and positive relationship between time management and perception skills in manager’s effectiveness at α=0.01; in other words, we can estimate perception skills in manager’s effectiveness by time management. Results of one variable regression analyze showed that time management skills are able to estimate the quality of small scales (skills) in manager’s effectiveness.
